Dearest friends, today is the last day of the bloggers’ 14-day ZESPRI kiwifruit challenge! It has been a very fun journey thus far and I truly enjoyed sharing various kiwifruit recipes and photos on my blog, on Instagram as well as my on Facebook page. Honestly, ZESPRI kiwifruit has become my family’s ‘talking point’ over the past 2 weeks as we would always be trying to brainstorm new recipes together. I’m thankful that my parents and brother were pretty adventurous, especially in eating the Japanese vegetable curry with kiwifruit! I also shared some green kiwifruits with my secondary school friends when we met for dinner and I was surprised that a few of them had not tried this fruit before! In fact, they sliced the kiwifruits right after dinner and they loved its tangy sweet taste :)
Through this 14-day challenge, I have come to realize that it’s actually pretty easy to include kiwifruits into your diet as long as you put your heart to it! No more excuses! Last night, I had donuts for dinner and I decided to have some green kiwifruit to go along with it :) I got my Vitamin C boost that way too! The possibilities are endless. What’s more amazing is that I have been eating kiwifruits for close to 14 days in a row!
Now that we have come to the end of the challenge, missuschewy would like to celebrate with everyone by putting up this very loveable ZESPRI green kiwifruit thumbdrive, together with other collectible items as part of a giveaway contest. I’m actually giving away my own goodie bag here which you can still take part!
ZESPRI Giveaway Part Two features different items such as the thumbdrive, battery-operated massager, apron, gloves, sponge, etc! These items make up a set and there are 3 sets to be won! Click here to find out more. Good luck! ;)
Thank you ZESPRI and Edelman PR for the generous supply of kiwifruits and for sponsoring the giveaway.
On the 12th day of the ZESPRI challenge, my kiwifruit gave to me..

- Potassium: an essential mineral that helps maintain blood pressure and heart health.
- Fibre: improves digestive health, controls sugar levels and reduce cholesterol levels.
And so much more! Find out what other health benefits ZESPRI kiwifruits can provide at ZESPRI’s website!
After two consecutive days of posting simple recipes of Seafood Fried Rice with ZESPRI Kiwifruit and Japanese Vegetable Curry Rice with ZESPRI Kiwifruit, I will be doing short post on making Double-boiled ZESPRI Kiwifruit with White Fungus!
- White fungus
- Red dates
- Rock sugar
- ZESPRI Green Kiwifruit
Add all the ingredients into the double-boiler and double boil over simmering water in a pot for about an hour.
It’s so simple! You can choose to leave the double-boiler to cool before refrigerating it for a few hours prior to serving.
Don’t forget to visit ZESPRI’s website for really cool dessert recipes!
Did you know that ZESPRI Green Kiwifruit has FIVE times the nutrition of apples? It is also an extremely rich source of Vitamin C! Hope this little fun fact helps to chase those Monday blues away ;)
Happy Sunday everyone! Yesterday, I shared a very simple recipe for Seafood Fried Rice for ZESPRI Kiwifruit and today, I will be blogging about Japanese Vegetable Curry Rice with ZESPRI kiwifruit! Yup, you heard me right! I posted a photo of the final product on Instagram and it seemed like not many could get used to the idea of eating kiwi with curry :P
- Japanese Vegetable Curry
- ZESPRI Green Kiwifruits
Slice/chop carrots, potato, onion and kiwifruits.
Boil water and add a dash of salt and cooking oil. Boil carrots and potato for a few minutes.
Drain away the water. Add Japanese vegetable curry and onion. Stir well.
Add ZESPRI green kiwifruits and stir.
Here’s our Japanese vegetable curry rice with ZESPRI kiwifruit! You can choose to serve it separately from your steamed white rice. It’s really very simple to cook! :)
Itadakimasu~ I personally like to mix the Japanese curry into my rice before eating. Anyway, this is a bit like assam sauce, minus the spiciness and sourness! Haha! For more recipes, visit ZESPRI’s website.
How do you get creative when you have boxes and boxes of ZESPRI kiwifruits? On National Day, my mum and I whipped up a storm in the kitchen. Ok, my mum did the cooking while I stood there photographing the entire process :P I’m gonna share a very simple recipe on Seafood Fried Rice with ZESPRI Kiwifruit today!
- Crabmeat stick
- Steamed white rice
- Chicken stock
- ZESPRI Gold Kiwifruits
Quantity wise, I leave it all up to you! You can always add in more of the ingredients that you like :P
Turn on stove and heat up the wok. Add a bit of cooking oil and fry in some garlic. As it sizzles, add prawns, squid and crabmeat stick. Give it a good fry!
For extra flavor, add in a dash of chicken stock.
Pour in steamed white rice.
Continue frying. Don’t forget to watch the fire and adjust accordingly to prevent burning the rice!
Lightly beat eggs and pour them in. Stir till they are lightly scrambled.
Now for the fun part! Add in diced ZESPRI kiwifruits and stir minimally.
Wheeeeee! Our seafood fried rice with ZESPRI kiwifruit is ready! How does it taste? Surprisingly, it tastes quite good! A bit like pineapple fried rice! ;) Head to ZESPRI’s website to learn more about their recipes using ZESPRI kiwifruits!
Do you know that ZESPRI kiwifruit contains twice the Vitamin C of oranges? Just by consuming ZESPRI kiwifruit alone helps you meet your Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) of Vitamin C everyday! After last year’s memorable ZESPRI kiwi-licious four-course dinner at Heart Bistro, missuschewy is very delighted to be once again invited to another round of bloggers’ dinner that cleverly incorporated ZESPRI kiwifruits! This time, the dinner was held at The Living Cafe along Bukit Timah Road.
Asked my secondary school BFF along because for someone who loves fruits, I’m sure she would enjoy the dinner!
Great to see Maureen and Rae too!
Once again, it is proven that ZESPRI kiwifruit can be used to create a wonderful four-course meal. We started off with Raw Bruschetta with Pesto and Kiwi Salsa. By ‘raw’, we mean unprocessed or uncooked so please do not be alarmed when you see the words ‘raw kiwi’. The starter was a great appetite whetter due to its amazing tangy-sweet-sour combination!
I thought that the Raw Kiwi and Apple Gazpacho Soup had turned cold because we took too many photos and then Maureen reminded me that it’s ‘raw’. Ahhh silly me. Not your usual type of soup. I personally found that the taste of onions was a little overpowering.
If there’s one thing I want to attempt to recreate in my own kitchen, it would definitely be the Grilled Salmon Fillet! Stuffed with cauliflower puree, served with mixed salad and kiwi citrus, I give it two thumbs up.
Now comes the best part of the meal. The Raw Kiwi Pie was simply amazing. Apart of kiwifruit, it was made using nuts and nut milk. This dessert was admittedly sour with a good mix of sweetness! I finished off the raw kiwi pie with ease.
Thanks to ZESPRI, I will be conducting a giveaway on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/missuschewy next week! Be sure to ‘like’ my page to stay updated on the amazing ZESPRI giveaway! There will be really awesome prizes to be won!
In addition to the benefits for cold and flu, regularly eating ZESPRI kiwifruit can also help with digestion, skin care, heart health, weight loss and boost the immune system. Head over to ZESPRI’s website for more fun facts and interesting recipes!
Thank you ZESPRI and Edelman PR for the invitation.
Do you know that ZESPRI kiwifruit are the most ‘nutrient dense’ of popular fruits and belong in the category of “Super Fruits”? They are a rich source of a great variety of nutrients such as Vitamin C, fibre, potassium, zinc, magnesium, have a low Glycemic Index of 52 and are high in antioxidants! I’m glad that my mum got me started on the habit of eating both ZESPRI Green and Gold kiwifruits on a regular basis. The first time I ate a kiwifruit, I tried to peel the hairy skin to get to the fruit but that’s not the right way! The easiest way to eat a kiwifruit is to cut one into half and scoop out the ripe fruit from the skin with a spoon. I’m also excited to share with you that kiwifruit can easily be incorporated into your daily needs. Heart Bistro’s chef took up the challenge and whipped up a tantalizing four-course dinner with his clever use of this nutritional powerhouse. ZESPRI kiwi in my soup? Yums!
Pooja from The Nutrition Clinic gave us an insight on the various health benefits of kiwifruits and emphasized the point that the consumption of this fruit aids the entire body as a whole and not just any one part of the body alone. We had a zesty ZESPRI drink, a lovely blend of green kiwi, green apple and honeydew, to sip on while listening to the engaging nutritionist. If you are preparing kiwifruit juice or puree, stop the food processor before the seeds get crushed as this can add a slightly bitter flavor.
This Salad of Kiwi with Green Mango and Crispy Fish is unmistakably a variation of Thailand’s iconic mango salad with the addition of diced kiwifruit lending a mild sweetness to the overall dish. Guaranteed to arouse and awaken the taste buds!
We were initially quite apprehensive over finding kiwi slices in our bowls of soup but hey, it tastes really great! The Clear Lemongrass Soup with Poached Seafood and Fresh Green Kiwi packs a punch and stimulates the appetite.
ZESPRI kiwifruit contains actinidin, which is a natural meat tenderizer. Simply peel and mash the kiwifruit and spread the pulp on the meat. Let it stand for 10 to 15 minutes, scrape off the pulp and discard. And yes, the Herb & Spice Roasted Spring Chicken with Kiwi Salsa was incredibly juicy and tender beyond words! I’m slightly embarrassed to say this, but I couldn’t resist eating the skin of the chicken!
I had been looking forward to the Kiwi Trifle & Saffron Mousse since the start of the dinner! The dessert was simply mind-blowing. I loved the contrasting textures and this dessert was not cloyingly sweet.
We would like to thank Vanessa from Edelman Public Relations for the invitation, Pooja from The Nutrition Clinic for sharing the benefits of eating kiwifruit and to ZESPRI and Heart Bistro for the kiwi-licious dinner!
I’m conducting a giveaway contest and it will officially start at 12pm! Cool items include the above ZESPRI Gold Kiwifruit 2GB thumb drive! Too awesome for words! I know right, there are lotsa cool thumb drives springing out in the market right now. I don’t think you can find this anywhere else though! :P The yellow plastic holder is perfect for storing a kiwifruit and bringing it to work or school. And if you have kids or little nieces and nephews, the tattoo stickers are gonna be a great way to introduce them to kiwifruit! I’ll be throwing in other miscellaneous stuff too ;)
