Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition & Pizzeria Mozza @ MBS

_MG_2970

Helloooo my dear friends! I managed to squeeze some time out to do this short and a little outdated (oops!) post. It’s still worth reading ok! πŸ˜› So, here we go! Sometime in April, misterchewy and I went to check out Titantic: The Artifact Exhibition at Marina Bay Sands! I should have blogged about this earlier because the exhibition ended on 29 April but I was really busy πŸ™ The tickets were priced at $20 each for Singaporeans but I managed to get them at a slightly cheaper rate because of corporate discount πŸ˜€

_MG_2999

We didn’t have to queue to buy the tickets because they were issued to us beforehand. But, we had to be part of the freaking long queue to enter the exhibition area! I’m holding up our boarding passes! πŸ™‚

_MG_2998

OMG I swear my face fell the moment I saw that we were being issued Third Class Cabin passes! D: D: D: And no, we weren’t travelling together. Haha. I’m a middle-aged Mrs Williams Coutts who was travelling with her two young sons. LOL misterchewy was supposed to be an agricultural inspector! Anyway, Mrs Coutts and her sons survived!

_MG_3005

Ummm these are the only few photos that we took outside. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the exhibition so yeah, we were being very obedient πŸ˜› There were two photo-stops, but we weren’t allowed to use our own cameras. One ‘photographer’ was stationed at each stop to take our photos and it is up to us whether we want to buy them.

_MG_3010

Hubby Chewy and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously! Our favorite part of the exhibit was at the deck where there was a fake canopy of twinkling stars and when you peered down, it seemed as if the deep blue waters were moving gently. It was there and then where misterchewy and I stole a kiss πŸ˜› The entire setup was amazingly romantic! <3

_MG_3028

It was around 10pm but we hadn’t had dinner! Hungry us found ourselves at Pizzeria Mozza! Thank goodness last order’s at 11pm.

_MG_3016

Haha misterchewy was overjoyed because this was one of the places that he had shortlisted to celebrate one of our monthsaries. I had rejected him back then because I didn’t feel like eating pizza πŸ˜› LOL I’m very fussy so he has been conditioned to make many backup plans!

_MG_3026

Our cutlery were kept in an envelope! Very interesting right? In the background was our paper bag of bread sticks.

_MG_3033

Initially we only ordered this Bacon, Salami, Fennel sausage, Pancetta, Tomato & Mozzarella Pizza ($37) to share. Don’t let the puffy crust fool you, our pizza ain’t that big! Sorry, couldn’t help but sulk over its size because we were starving! It was cut up into 6 slices and I let misterchewy have 4. The pizza was actually quite yummy and savory!

_MG_3038

We were still hungry and ordered some chicken wings with hot mustard which cost us $18. Guess what? There were only 3 wings! :O Sorry no pics because we couldn’t be bothered. Hungry beyond words! Ok, to be fair, they were really splendid! But still, $18 is kinda steep.

The Chewys at Titantic Grand Staircase

Ending the post with this photo that misterchewy and I took at the iconic Grand Staircase of Titanic! :))

The Chewys’ Sweet Date @ Fullhouse Singapore Theme Cafe!

Fullhouse Cafe

Wow! What can I say? Both misterchewy and I are equally excited about relating our very first theme restaurant dining experience at Fullhouse Singapore Lifestyle Store and Cafe! With its grand opening that occurred as recent as mid April, Fullhouse is Singapore’s latest theme restaurant that has attracted many locals and created quite a buzz at the same time! πŸ˜€

_MG_3868

There were a couple of occasions when we would skip down the streets of Orchard Road hand in hand and pass by this colorful restaurant but we never went in because we already have other plans.

_MG_3810

Just a couple of days ago, after watching The Avengers in 3D at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, it was time for dinner and we were thinking.. Should we? Yes we should! So dinner at Fullhouse it was! πŸ™‚

_MG_3840

_MG_3800

When I first heard of the name “Fullhouse”, popular Korean drama starring Rain and Song Hye Kyo immediately came to mind! As you will see in the many pictures to come, Fullhouse is designed to look like a house! Duh, yes I know but this one’s totally awesome! Let me bring you on a mini tour. You’ll see! πŸ˜›

Daddy Thomas, Mummy Tracy, children Tiffani and Tony, as well as pet dog Toy make up the Fullhouse family! If you’re serious about this, you should grab one of these maps at the counter! πŸ˜‰

_MG_3843

Tadah! We have the very cosy and spacious Living Room! I love the colorful family portraits that are hung up on the wall. Ok la, I love everything about this ‘living room’, in particular the warm feeling that it brings! πŸ˜€

Keen to see how the Master Bedroom looks like? I reckon it’s every girl’s dream come true! The bedroom is a walk in wardrobe, and so much more!

_MG_3817

Psst.. Most of the items in the bedroom are for sale! You can even try the clothes on in the fitting room πŸ™‚

_MG_3815

Are you Goldilocks? If you’re not, then you better don’t be like the three naughty bears and anyhow sleep on people’s bed ah! LOL.

_MG_3824

Wheeeee! Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is the Balcony! I must say that this is very lovely! Well, the green ‘grass’ can only make me think of playing golf. LOL.

_MG_3842

Actually, there are Entertainment Room and Study Rooms which we did not manage to cover in this post because those rooms are meant for events and private dining. There was a birthday celebrating going on in one of the rooms so I suppose this place is pretty well sought after!

_MG_3799

Ok let’s get back to our dinner!

_MG_3781

We ordered an appetizer, the Salmon Salad ($16.90) to share. On the plate was three thick slices of smoked salmon with sliced fresh mango and salad. The salmon slices were very firm and fleshy and I really liked the intensive smoked taste. Hubby Chewy let me have two slices but two were never enough πŸ˜› He doesn’t usually eat mangoes but he ate most of it anyway. It was more sweet than sourish so I guess that was the reason πŸ™‚

_MG_3777

_MG_3796

I wanted something sweet, yet ummm healthy at the same time so I chose the Korean Jujube Tea ($3.90). It’s essentially sweetened tea syrup containing jujube fruits or red dates. There were some red dates peelings which I was able to chew on at the bottom of my glass. Quite a sweet and refreshing drink that I would recommend πŸ™‚

_MG_3785

Fullhouse’s menu is quite extensive and I went “I want this.. No wait I think I want this..” before finally deciding on the Pan Sear Dory Fish ($16.90). It wasn’t such a bad choice except that the sight of siew pak choy (xiao bai cai) totally put me off. I love my greens but this is the only vegetable that I detest. However, I gamely finished the two fat pieces of siew pak choy because I don’t like to waste food. Apart from that, the fish was above my expectations. I would say that the lemongrass cream was fantastic and enhanced the taste and texture of the fish.

_MG_3793

Hubby Chewy also has a sweet tooth just like me, which is why we fell for each other. Because we are incredibly sweet! LOL kidding! Ok la which is why he ordered the Honeydew Milkshake ($7.90). He liked it a lot but honestly, I think it’s like a more atas version of a bubble tea.

_MG_3791

The husband had the Wasabi Fish and Wedges ($16.90). He claimed that the deep fried fish fillet was pretty tasteless and the wasabi dip salvaged things a little, although it did not provide much of a kick.

_MG_3805

While we were sipping our drinks, I took a closer look at the menu.

_MG_3806

There’s a comic section on the last few pages. Really cool stuff! I guess it’s a way for to keep diners entertained while waiting for their food to be served.

This vintage Aston Martin Mini Cooper Classic is parked at the Car Porch and no visit to Fullhouse is complete without having your photos taken with this colorful baby! πŸ™‚

Marmalade Pantry at the Stables: A Dose of Countryside Romance

_MG_2288-001

As a newly married young couple, my husband and I are constantly looking out for restaurants that offer romantic atmosphere. Sometimes, especially on special occasions, it’s gonna be more than just cheap and good food. The perfect ambience matters a lot to us and I must say that Marmalade Pantry at the Stables fits the bill. It’s tucked away in the lush greenery of Bukit Timah Saddle Club and you might even catch a glimpse of the horses if you swing by for brunch! As for the food, there were some hits and misses but the overall dining experience was a great one.

Sweet Red Pepper and Tomato Soup, $10

We had a few starters for sharing. Just by taking a whiff of the Sweet Red Pepper and Tomato Soup ($10) is enough to whet one’s appetite. I quite liked the strong, tangy flavors.

Pan Seared Haloumi, $21

Mildly salty cheese cubes in this Pan Seared Haloumi ($21) dish went well with the tomato slices. This is not your everyday starter! Highly recommended for cheese lovers.

Mexican Chicken Salad, $22

This doesn’t look like salad, does it? With crispy tortilla and chicken bits drizzled in salsa sauce, I’m sure most of us would love this Mexican Chicken Salad ($22)!

Crab Caesar, $22

This plate of Crab Caesar ($22) turned out to be my favorite starter of the night! Chunks of crab meat sweetened the deal for this dish.

Basque Chicken, $30

The Basque Chicken ($30) proved to be well marinated given its tender, juicy texture accompanied by somewhat strong flavours coming through.

Pan Roasted Red Snapper, $28

I personally found the Pan Roasted Red Snapper ($28) to be mediocre. Something that will fill your stomach but will not leave you impressed.

Fish and Chips

Same goes for the Fish and Chips. In fact, the breading was a little thick for my liking.

Spaghetti Carbonara, $24

Definitely the star of the night, the Spaghetti Cabonara ($24) was like a godsend just before desserts were served. Coming from a cream-based pasta fan, I might sound biased but I reckon everyone enjoyed this as much as I did! Al dente spaghetti and savoury bacon strips tossed in thick creamy sauce, this is one hell of a dish that everyone must go for.

Granny Smith and Stem Ginger Pudding, $13

What I liked most about the Granny Smith and Stem Ginger Pudding ($13) was the salted caramel ice cream!

Sea Salt Caramel Cheese Cake, $8

I didn’t really fancy the Sea Salt Caramel Cheese Cake ($8). Probably would have appreciated it if it was more moist.

Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding, $12

I have always had a thing for sticky date pudding! The Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding ($12) gets my vote. It was light, slightly spongy with a chewy kueh-like texture and not exceedingly sweet!

Cupcakes

If you don’t already know, Marmalade Pantry’s cupcakes sell like hot (cup)cakes in Singapore!

Red Velvet ($4.50) and Rum & Raisin ($4.80)

Psst.. Give the legendary Red Velvet ($4.50) a try, will you? Can’t stomach all that after dinner? You can choose to takeaway these cupcakes! Makes a good breakfast or afternoon snack with tea!
