Oh sharks. This is depressing. The first to be on my blacklist is neither a cafe nor a restaurant but an online dining guide which prides itself as “Asia’s No.1 Dining Guide (is) in Singapore!“.

Generally speaking, I’m okay with people eating shark’s fins. It is their personal choice. But I dont see a need to promote this consumption. You wanna cook it in your own kitchen, that’s your business.
yea… say no to sharkfins!
thanks huiyuan! 🙂
Well that’s a pity 😮
haha u also got invited isit?
Yeah thought I might see you there hahaha
Haha hope you had a great time there! See you around next time la 🙂
Personally, I like shark’s fin but I totally agree with your “I dont see a need to promote this consumption”–very true!
I used to enjoy eating shark’s fins too but that was before i got my diving license. And this is also the reason why I don’t go round condemning ppl who consume shark’s fins. 🙂
same here…i don’t eat shark’s fin anymore after I saw them swimming smoothly under water. It’s rareity and seeing at least 1 shark makes the diving a great one! 🙂
Loraine you are so lucky! I have not seen any up to date! 🙁 Only turtles and I get stung by jellyfishes. Boohoo.
I got invited too but I couldn’t make it. I’m okay with sharks’ fin but feel that the issue of conserving sharks is so obviously important, how could Openrice have not bothered to think about this issue before posting the recipe?
jl, you are so sensible. I’m proud of you! Anyway i was more enraged by the hypocritical side of OpenRice (if you examine the tweets closely). And I think that they lack professionalism. I had intended to withdraw my account from their website but I cant find the Delete button anywhere! I could only remove my particulars. Even my reviews are still there.
oh dear…. hmmm i try not to eat sharks fins but if it’s a tasting invitation, then i will eat 🙂
Haha Maureen, you can always request them to serve you something else 😛
hey not a fan of shark’s fins too…in fact, i boycott that too no matter the fact they claim it be the vegetarian version or whatsoever! no is a NO!
Whoa Lobster, actually i duno how i would react if i see a vegetarian version! Haha! Hmm but i suppose rice vermicelli’s a NO for you too!
just came across ur blog. what has ur driver’s license got to do with eating shark’s fin. cannot comprehend. sorry, just being kaypoh. haha! :p
oh diving!!! LOL! ok sorry.
