We wanted to celebrate Chewy Charles’ younger brother’s birthday and the birthday boy had a craving for Italian food. Domani at Ngee Ann City it was! If you are wondering why Domani, out of so many other Italian eateries in Singapore.. Well, that’s because Chewy Charles’ parents and granny were also involved in the celebration. Other than pastas and pizzas, there are other dishes like grilled salmon and chicken cutlet which come with a serving of rice.
I was amazed by Domani’s pasta collection. They have practically everything, ranging from your usual Carbonara and Aglio Olio to slightly more exotic ones like Sambal Marinara Seafood and Beef Stew Fettuccine. As usual, I took an extremely long time to make up my mind but I’m glad that I didnt regret my choice! Sprinkled with light chili and olive oil, the Scrambled Egg & Prawn Pasta ($14.90) was flavorful. Never knew that the combination of scrambled egg and spaghetti could taste so good! Prawns were on the puny side though.
Chewy Charles seemed to like his Hawaiian Pizza ($16.90). Domani’s pizzas are homemade but I don’t think that they are wood-fired. Please don’t quote me ah! We liked the sweet fruity taste of fresh pineapple, honey baked ham, cheese and tomato sauce. A little too enthusiastic on the cheese but we weren’t complaining.
The marshmallows in our Rocky Road Sundae ($8.90) were remarkably chewy! The combination of chocolate ice cream, nuts and marshmallows is really awesome stuff.
