I used to major in Psychology at NUS and naturally, my closest group of girl friends were the ones who were doing the same major as me. Heh. Plus we would always try our best to take the same modules together every semester, till death do us part. Umm.. I mean till our accounts run out of bidding points. Lol. We used to hang out very often during our undergraduate days, to celebrate one another’s birthdays, play boardgames, travel, etc. We don’t meet up as much now due to our busy schedules but we try! Haha.
I first got acquainted with Amily and Tammie through NUS Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS) orientation camp. We were in the same orientation group (OG) and after braving the 5 days of running around, mad cheering, playing of dirty muddy war games together, we agreed to stay in touch and take as many modules together when the semester begins.
I have to admit that I was closer to Tammie because at that time, both of us were single and had more *ahem* free time to ourselves. LOL. We took part in our very first 5km race together too!
And then Rhonda came into the picture. She was studying in the same junior college but I remember that I didnt quite like her. She looked like a snob I think! Rhonda and Amily were secondary school friends and when Amily introduced Rhonda to us, “Eh my friend is taking the same module as us.” I was like NooOOoOOOooO. LOL. But hey, she turned out to be okay. Like yeah, alright la. I liked her most when she drove us to Dempsey for dinner. Haha!
Thanks to the sucky NUS bidding system, I ended up taking one particular Psyc module without Tammie and Amily. Guess who I saw in class? Rhonda. Like argh. But I was a bit relieved too! Cuz got familiar face mah. I can’t remember which module that was, but our lecturer was Dr Klaus. He had a huge white beard and he really resembled Santa Claus. As the exams drew near, Rhonda asked if I wanted to study (note: not revise) together. We chionged two weeks of hardcore mugging from morning till night and I actually attained a 4.1 cap that sem. LOL.
We then went on a short trip to KL to reward ourselves for studying so hard. Heh!
When the new semester commenced, we arranged to take the same modules again! This was one of our favorite after school activities – STEAMBOAT! We usually go to Rhonda’s house because it’s more convenient.
CNY lo hei at Amily’s place.

Easter ‘party’ at Rhon’s! Haha! This photo cracks me up. Too bad Tam couldn’t join us.
A mini picnic opp NUS University Hall right after Rhon’s convocation.
The girls threw a surprise for me on my birthday 3 years ago. Eeeks. FAT. D:
Amily’s birthday celebration at Orgo rooftop bar. Of course we celebrated Tam’s and Rhon’s birthdays too! Lazy to dig out photos 😛
We ran 10km together in the Stanchart race!
Wokay, enough of the unglam photos already. Back to the story 😛 Since Amily was the last to end work in the north, we decided to meet for dinner at Old School Delights along Upper Thomson Road. It’s a very ‘old school’ (duh lol) place! Hahaha. You can probably find all the games that you have played during your childhood over here! Each table is numbered and there is a small wooden toy box on every table.
We found a pack of Donkey card games, five stones and some chess pieces in the box.
The menu comprises of the typical local fare like nasi lemak, laksa and meesiam, etc. Tam and I opted for chicken macaroni. Yeah in the end all four of us had the same thing.
Yummy popcorn chicken!
We thought we struck gold with the last piece of Lemony Cake but it turned out to be so-so..
Cheers to our friendship for more than 5 years and counting! We are the old school delights. Haha! <3
