Luk Yu Teahouse & Restaurant Singapore

My family and I celebrated my paternal grandpa’s birthday at Luk Yu Restaurant and Teahouse recently! I have never heard of this place before so I decided to bring my Fujifilm along so that I can share my dining experience with all of you 😛

I’m not entirely sure, but it seems like Luk Yu Restaurant & Teahouse at Chinatown Point is in no way related to the popular Luk Yu dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong. However, this place does serve dim sum in the day and each dim sum dish comes in individual servings! For instance, you can have just one prawn dumpling at $1.80 instead of ordering the entire basket of 3 or 4.

We were served two sets of Appetizers ($2 each) for our table of 6. Honey roasted cashew nuts with sesame seeds were simply addictive!

The Chilled Pork Knuckle ($6.80) is yet another yummy appetizer that came thinly sliced and were a delight to eat when dipped into the accompanying white vinegar. Love its gelatinous texture!

We ordered the Peking Duck Whole ($58) and were sorely disappointed by its puny size. It looked severely underfed. LOL. We still prefer going to Imperial Treasure for peking duck.

Not officially on the menu, we were recommended to give the Braised Grouper Fillet ($22) and we were glad we did! The generous chunks of fish were flaky and drenched in delicious gravy. Other ingredients found were roasted pork belly, mushrooms and beancurd skin. I hope this becomes permanent on the menu soon!

The XO Stir-fried Scallop & Asparagus ($22) was nothing to shout about. Scallops were really huge and fresh though.

I love their Signature Beancurd ($12) which was silky soft within.

Wasabi Mayo Prawn Balls ($18) were pretty mediocre.

As we were celebrating my grandpa’s birthday, we decided to order the Ee Fu Noodles with Peking Duck ($15). What is seen here is 1/6 of the actual portion.

These are the different desserts that all of us ordered – Herbal Jelly ($3.80), Chilled Mango Sago ($3.80), Boiled Milk with Ginger ($3.80), Red Dates Watercress ($3.80), Red Bean with Lotus Seed ($3.80).

Wishing my grandpa good health and longevity! Stay happy always and huat ahhhhh! 😀
