Wedding Anniversary Photoshoot with Firefly Photography

DSC_0013

Whoohoo! TGIF chewy chewy friends! The week passed by like a flash. I know our first year wedding anniversary was on 9 September and it took me so long to post this πŸ˜› A couple of weeks before our anniversary, I chanced upon a Groupon deal for this 90 minute photoshoot with Firefly Photography at just $12. You must be thinking, “Yeah $12.. You gotta be kidding me right?” So smart, $12 includes only 5 edited photos. We had to top up $68 to get 50 edited photos and the remaining 100++ raw ones, which is still quite a good deal! πŸ˜€

DSC_0011-001

Here are some of the shots that I personally prefer. We were trying to think of a theme for our casual photoshoot and it was PICNIC! We bought some jumbo sized snacks from the supermarket and also a pink ukulele just for this shoot! πŸ˜› Location was at Hort Park and homaigawd it was really hot even at 10am.

Osteria L’Operetta @ Sixth Avenue: Dinner with The Hooties!

Osteria L'Operetta with Hooties 033

Hello chewys! Sorry for the lack of updates! Just got back from our BKK trip and haven’t had time to sit down and blog. So please bear with me while I cheat with yet another pictorial post today ok? πŸ˜› I will try my very best to churn out a few mini posts on our BKK trip by the end of this month! πŸ™‚ This post is dedicated to my JC girls, The Hooties! Not to be confused with The Hooters please. Anyway, it had been a few months since we last met at Miaoxia’s wedding! We were trying to decide if we should get our partners to join us for dinner so that we could form a boisterous group of 10 but we went against the idea in the end so that we could talk about girly stuff without the guys around! πŸ˜› Next time la! I’m really glad that all the girls were willing to sacrifice their precious Saturday evening with their partners so that we could meet up for dinner πŸ˜€

Osteria L'Operetta with Hooties 035

Since MX had church service till evening around Bukit Timah area, I suggested meeting at Osteria L’Operetta along sixth avenue! I think it’s still a relatively new place. Well, at least it was when we visited πŸ˜›

Bollywood Veggies & Poison Ivy Bistro: Going Back To Nature!

Bollywood Veggies 082

Hello my chewy friends! What do you do when have an entire day to spare? I’m sure many people, especially couples, find that weekends and public holidays are very precious because it’s a perfect time to spend quality time with your loved ones. I have to admit that sometimes, after a week of work, misterchewy and I are totally conked out and we spend a major part of our weekend lazing in bed. LOL. During the Hari Raya Puasa long weekend, we decided to take this opportunity to visit Bollywood Veggies which is nestled in the lush Kranji Countryside, in the northwest part of Singapore! πŸ™‚

Bollywood Veggies 038

The ride to Bollywood Veggies took almost half an hour but it was an enjoyable one nevertheless. The scenic yet unfamiliar route made us wonder if we were still in Singapore! πŸ˜›

Bollywood Veggies 093

Getting to Kranji Countryside is a teeny bit troublesome, but not to worry, here’s the Kranji Express Bus schedule if you decide to head there by public transport. We boarded the shuttle bus from Kranji MRT station at 12.45pm and it cost us $3 each for a two-way journey. You may alight and check out other places like Sungei Buloh, Gardenasia and Jurong Frog Farm along the way. Just flash your ticket! πŸ˜‰

Bollywood Veggies 085

Bollywood Veggies grows a wide variety of vegetables, fruits and flowers, as well as uncommon medicinal trees and herbs. It is also the largest producer of organic bananas and papayas in Singapore! That’s something to be proud of.

Bollywood Veggies 084

Bollywood Veggies 031

You know, brunch is not all about eggs and pancakes. Since we had travelled all the way here, it was absolutely necessary for us to settle our brunch at Poison Ivy Bistro. The Poison Ivy Bistro is aptly named after farmpreneur Ivy Singh-Lim, a fiesty 63 year old who is not afraid to say what’s on her mind. Expect only healthy meals with the freshest farm produce at Poison Ivy Bistro. There is no MSG and very little salt is used. If you prefer more salt, just ask for the ‘poison’. Oh, do note that payment is to be made by cash only.

Bollywood Veggies 028

Bollywood Veggies 006

Bollywood Veggies 024

I had the Lemongrass Tea ($2) which was kinda refreshing to drink to beat the sweltering heat.

Bollywood Veggies 004

Another recommended alternative would be the Aloe Vera ($3),

Bollywood Veggies 027

We shared three servings of Brown Rice between ourselves. On average, the starters and mains are priced at $4 and $6 respectively.

Bollywood Veggies 017

I suggested ordering the Bolly Banana Curry because banana and curry sounded like a pretty interesting combination! This dish wasn’t very spicy and the texture of the banana was akin to that of boiled potatoes. Do you know that Bollywood Veggies’ key offering is bananas? Their bananas are legendary and there are over 20 different types! You must try their bananas when you go there!

Bollywood Veggies 015

Of the two curry mains, I very much prefer the Warrior’s Chicken Curry which does not contain coconut milk. The curry is thick and well-flavored with a variety of spices, while the chicken is cooked till tender. In general, I found that this was suitably spicy and would appeal to most people.

Bollywood Veggies 020

As the saying goes, ‘never judge a book by its cover’. The same can be said for the Otah Omelette. This might look like an ordinary piece of omelette with a slab of otah but there’s more than meets the eye. Generous chunks of fish meat could be found in the otah and the egg omelette was extremely lemak!

After a satisfying meal, we had to walk off the calories and we did so by exploring the grounds of Bollywood Veggies. Hope you guys enjoy looking at the rest of the photos, as much as we did taking them! πŸ™‚

The Coastal Settlement: Perfect Place for a Family Night Out

_MG_6622

My birthday posts seem to be never-ending! LOL. *Raises white flag* In recent years, my parents would ask me to choose where I wanted to celebrate my birthday and this time, I chose The Coastal Settlement (TCS)! Well, I have always wanted to check this place out but it’s quite inaccessible, unless you drive and know your directions well.

_MG_6615

THe journey to Changi from our place took us close to an hour by car. I was thinking to myself that thank goodness I didn’t attempt to make a trip on my own! TCS is located along Netheravon Road (honestly, have you even heard of it?!) near Changi Beach Club and the old Changi hospital. The latter is kinda spooky but oh wells..

_MG_6619

Mostly pictures in this post! πŸ˜›

_MG_6674

Drizzled with sweet and sour spicy sauce, the Coastal Wings and Drumlets ($14) are perfect for sharing! They were not overly fried and the meat was very tender.

_MG_6678

The Truffle Fries ($15) were a major let down though πŸ™ Couldn’t detect any hints of truffle oil and I don’t think they should serve truffle fries with their house tomato relish. On hindsight, we should have ordered the portobello fries, which I think would be served with truffle mayonnaise.

_MG_6679

We shared a plate of Calamari ($14) as well. The salt and peppered squid was actually kinda soggy but wasn’t too bad taste wise.

_MG_6686

TCS has quite a range of pizzas on their menu and we decided to have the Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza ($22). Thin biscuit like pizza base topped with 16 months aged prosciutto, baby tomatoes, mozzarella & cheddar, shaved parmesan cheese and arugula was deliciously savory. Strongly recommend this!

_MG_6723

My mum had the Nasi Lemak ($16) which is the most expensive plate of nasi lemak that I had ever come across. Besides the usual fried chicken and sunny side up egg, this came with tiger prawns too.

_MG_6712

The hubby and I chose cream based pastas and it was a pretty bad idea because we had major difficulty trying to finish our food. LOL. The Chicken Miso Carbonara ($22) wasn’t too bad. It’s something that can satisfy your creamy pasta craving. Felt that the sauce could be more savory though.

_MG_6708

I’m pretty sure that a good amount of truffle oil had been added into our Truffle Mushroom Fettuccine ($21)! We could smell it from a distance when it was being placed on our table. Anyway misterchewy and I are crazy over anything truffle right now! πŸ˜› This dish was superb and the mushrooms were really juicy. I would recommend this for sharing though. A little too creamy for me to finish this on my own. Even misterchewy was unable to do so!

_MG_6698

My brother stuck to the safe option of having Cod ‘N’ Chips ($26) which was served with thick cut fries, mesclun salad, wasabi tobiko mayonnaise.

Gardens by the Bay: Dining at Pollen & Strolling at Flower Dome

_MG_7225-001

Ever since Pollen at Gardens by the Bay was first featured on the Sunday edition of The Straits Times, I had been hinting widely to misterchewy that yours truly was dying to go there. The boy got my ‘hint’ and arranged to treat me to a pre-birthday lunch! Well, if he didn’t get my big hint, he’s gonna get a hard knock on his head. LOL just kidding~ πŸ˜›

Flower Dome 003

The hubby had everything well-planned and we took a cab to Gardens by the Bay after checking out of Wanderlust Hotel. He made reservations for lunch a few days in advance and we had a buggy to pick us up at the entrance. It sure was a long way in! Super excited while we were on the buggy! πŸ˜€

_MG_7321

I think with all the hype going on, Pollen probably doesn’t need any more introduction from this humble blog. Ok but anyways, for the benefit of those who don’t already know, Pollen is the sister restaurant to Michelin-starred British chef Jason Atherton’s Pollen Street Social in London. Pollen sets itself to be a fine dining concept in Singapore which serves mainly Mediterranean-inspired modern European cuisine in casual ambience surrounded by temperate olive trees, herbs and vegetation. Do you know that every morning, the chefs at Pollen pick fresh herbs and vegetables from their own herb garden as ingredients for the dishes? πŸ˜€

_MG_7221-001

Fine dining is just not my cup of tea. I prefer a casual and relaxed dining atmosphere. Being tensed doesn’t allow me to enjoy my food, and the hefty price tag that comes with it would not be justifiable, no matter how mind-blowing the food is. This is my personal opinion of course. What about Pollen then? I would say that dining in a picturesque setting is a totally different experience all together! It’s kinda like alfresco dining in a majestic glass dome surrounded by beautiful flowers and greenery in this case! Like Alice in Wonderland at a Mad Hatter Tea Party! I don’t think it’s something you can easily get elsewhere πŸ˜‰

_MG_7191-001

Thanks to the hubby for doting on me! Hehehe! πŸ˜›

_MG_7198-001

Typical things that ‘tourists’ do. Just felt that I had to pose for a photo with Pollen’s menu. LOL.

_MG_7195-001

_MG_7200-001

Interestingly, the couple next to us was also celebrating the girl’s birthday! I’m not a stalker la but here’s her blog post! I was quite sure that she had to be at least a blogger, if not food blogger because her bf/husband remarked that he would have whatever she wasn’t planning to have. Hahaha! Guess what happened? All four of us had the Set Lunch ($55++). Both guys ordered exactly the same dishes and us ladies ate exactly the same too! Yup the starter, mains and desserts. Homaigawd.

_MG_7189-001

_MG_7203-001

_MG_7210-001

_MG_7216-001

I picked the Petunia Ocean Trout as my starter, which instantly reminded us of the citrus marinated salmon that we had at Pamplemousse. Served with oyster mayonnaise and pickled onion, this dish was faultless. I loved the presentation! Such a pretty flower πŸ™‚

_MG_7208-001

_MG_7220-001

For someone who generally prefers strong flavors, misterchewy seemed quite happy with his Slow Cooked Eggs with Patata Bravas. The fried potato cubes and crispy slices of chorizo went quite well with the spicy tomato sauce. Plus biting into the egg was sheer delight, as can be seen from the hubby’s facial expressions.

_MG_7235-001

You should be able to estimate the size of the Roasted Pork Belly if you compare it against the size of the beans. Heh. Yeah set lunch mah, whaddaya expect? πŸ˜› The pork belly was really good, very tender with a slightly chewy bite. And if I didn’t remember wrongly, the cut was actually quite lean.

_MG_7231-001

My John Dory was unexceptional, nothing to shout about. The seafood bisque veloute was way too salty but I finished it up nevertheless.

_MG_7255-001

Isn’t misterchewy’s dessert choice of Coconut Mousse, Rhubarb Broth, Goat Cheese Ice Cream prettaaaay? The sweet coconut mousse complemented the sourish rhubarb perfectly and the goat cheese ice cream though subtle, could be an acquired taste. We liked it very much! πŸ™‚

_MG_7248-001

_MG_7252-001

My Beetroot Sorbet with Chocolate Mousse was served on a rock. Yes a ROCK! Haha. The waiter told us that a few customers actually asked if the rock is also part of the dessert and whether it can be eaten. Lololol. A rather refreshing mix of tart and sweet flavors in this one. The eating experience was a fun one though, trying to lick the rock clean. Heh.

_MG_7241

A birthday gift from Pollen! Very exquisite chocolate! I have never tasted anything like this before πŸ˜€

_MG_7258-001

Since misterchewy made reservations at Pollen, the entrance fee to Flower Dome was waived. This made our lunch at Pollen a rather good deal considering that we saved $12 per person on the admission fee πŸ˜›

_MG_7265-001

There is a lift within Pollen and we were shown up to the Flower Dome. Good thing we were there on a Monday because there wasn’t much of a crowd. But I made a wrong decision of not bringing my camera charger to charge my DSLR during the staycation πŸ™ Camera was running on low battery thus some of the shots that you see later on were taken with the hubby’s Canon IXUS.

Flower Dome 011

Taking a stroll at Flower Dome is a very cool affair! Hahaha no pun intended. It is a very nice feeling to have the sun shining down on you but in a cool and moist climate. Almost feels like experiencing winter in a foreign country! πŸ˜€

JB Organic Farm and Durian Buffet Trip with MissTamChiak!

JB Organic Farm & Durian Buffet Trip

Hello my chewy chewy friends! It’s finally Friday! πŸ˜€ Just to share with you, my company organized two trips to Johor Bahru over two consecutive Saturdays in July. The response was overwhelming for the first trip, so the recreation committee decided to have another one the following week. I was trying hard to contain my excitment when I saw the words “Eat All You Can Durian Buffet Feast“.

on bus

There were limited spaces so we had to go through a balloting process and I managed to get misstamchiak to join me on this one day trip! We enjoyed subsidized rates of $20 for me and $35 for her, which included transportation, organic farm visit, lunch, durian buffet and dinner! There were about 40 of us but I couldn’t really recognize anyone because they were from other entities and departments. Kinda like joining a tour group and it didn’t feel like a company thing for me if you get what I mean πŸ˜›

Breakfast place in jb

I woke up at 4.30am that morning because we were supposed to set off at around 6.45am. We were very hungry by the time we crossed customs and reached our first stopover for breakfast!

JB breakfast place

Honestly, Maureen felt like a big sister because she took care of me throughout the trip! It was probably also due to the fact that I had *just* recovered from sore throat, or maybe not quite. Wasn’t feeling very well actually. I guai guai sat there while Maureen went to order our food.

Fried wanton noodles

misstamchiak at work

Must take photos before we eat. It’s a ritual for us of course. Not using DSLR also nevermind.

Dim Sum

We shared dim sum too! If I didn’t remember wrongly, it works up to about $3.30 for these 3. Cheap cheap!

Breakfast finally!

IMG_1414

After an hour’s bus journey, we reached our next stop. Zenxin Organic Park is the first opened-to public organic farm in Malaysia, combining educational and recreational purposes.

IMG_1382

This scenic 100-acre park mainly composes of greenhouse area (vegetable farm) and a dragon fruit farm. Other crops consist of tropical fruits such as passion fruit, papaya, pineapple, etc. More than 100 types of herbs can also be found.

Can you believe it? This is a dragon fruit tree! Yup look closely and you will be able to see the fruit that’s being wrapped in the blue plastic bag.

And finallyyyy, it was time for durians! πŸ˜€

IMG_1428

The tour guide suggested that we should grab a bit of food because durians are gassy and we shouldn’t be eating them on an empty stomach. But I don’t understand why they had to serve fried beehoon and curry chicken?! Curry chicken + durians sound like a very heaty and deadly combination.

IMG_1437ed

IMG_1440

All that was left when everyone cleared the area. LOL.

IMG_1444

We were given about 2 hours to shop at Tebrau City Shopping Centre! The mall is quite huge but nothing really caught my fancy. Bought two pairs of berms for misterchewy! I bet they would cost me at least double of what I paid if I were to go to Bugis or Far East Plaza.

IMG_1442

I first had my very first Hokkaido cake when my MIL bought them back when she went to JB and that was quite some time back. I recalled eating one immediately after taking it out from the refrigerator. Surprisingly, it was still very soft and moist!

Dinner was included too! But the food wasn’t appetizing at all..

Wanderlust Hotel Singapore Staycation Blog Review

Staycation @ Wanderlust Hotel

Happy birthday to me! Over the weekend, my dear misterchewy planned a birthday surprise and he checked us into Wanderlust Hotel which was conceptualized by Singaporean boutique hotelier Loh Lik Peng. I really have to admit that after our staycations at Porcelain Hotel and Oasia Hotel, we are indeed hooked on to this whole staycation idea in Singapore! Additionally, it’s extremely fun to explore certain parts of Singapore that you are not familiar with. We cabbed around most of the time πŸ™‚

_MG_6782

Since the standard check-in time was at 2pm, we had a simple and light lunch at Plaza Singapura’s Itacho.

_MG_6779

_MG_6793

_MG_6797

_MG_6865

Wanderlust Hotel is located in Little India, more specifically along Dickson Road and it’s quite near Sim Lim Square. It is a boutique hotel which draws people like misterchewy and myself, who want a totally new and refreshing experience from their hotel stay. There are four thematic levels of 29 rooms. We stayed in a Whimsical room on level 4 and we strongly recommend this for a fantasy-filled experience! πŸ™‚ There are five varying themes, β€˜Bling’ , β€˜ASCII’, β€˜Space’, β€˜Tree’ and β€˜Typewriter’.

_MG_6799

Very cool-looking lobby!

Took a couple of shots while waiting for the front desk personnel to be done with our paperwork.

_MG_6982

Ohh, Cocoette is just beside the lift!

_MG_6861

*GASP* It seemed like misterchewy had planned a bigger surprise for his wifey πŸ˜›

_MG_6830

Later on (after much grilling), I found out that the hotel had earlier promised a birthday cake but when misterchewy emailed to confirm two days before we checked in, they could only provide a birthday cookie instead. Lol. The room decorations cost him quite a bit.

_MG_6826

_MG_6832

Philips iPhone/iPod docking station and Nespresso Essenza coffee making machine in our room. Getting more common these days?

_MG_6849

Yuppp! Our room is a two-storey room! There’s a staircase like OMGEE. As mentioned earlier, we stayed in a Whimsical room on level 4. These rooms are about 20-32sqm. Our room is a Space themed one! It’s super nice and super romantic~~~! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

_MG_6852

_MG_6855

_MG_6845

The stairs are a little narrow though! Plus the room is dark at night so you really gotta watch your step. Parents with young tots have to keep a close watch ya? πŸ™‚

_MG_7028

_MG_6816

I can’t stop emphasizing how r-o-m-a-n-t-i-c the Space themed room is! There are even ‘twinkling stars’ in our room! πŸ˜€

_MG_7003

The Sealy Posturepedic queen sized bed is up on the second floor.

_MG_6834

_MG_6841

_MG_7036

_MG_7004

There’s a red hot rocket in our room!

_MG_7008

_MG_7009

We spent quite a bit of time camwhoring in our room before moving off to our next destination which is at Hougang! We took a cab down and reached in about 15 minutes.

_MG_6908

I thought I should be nice and give misterchewy a little break from too much planning so I signed both of us up for a Terrarium Workshop the day before our staycation. I know it’s very last minute arrangement but it was a perfect decision! I reckon it’s a very unique couple bonding and dating activity, so I will definitely be sharing more on this in a separate blog post πŸ™‚

_MG_6914

Since we had a couple of hours to kill before dinner, we decided to loiter around the area so that we didn’t have to travel too much. Dinner would be at Chinatown πŸ™‚

_MG_6922

And yeah, what other dating activities are there besides eating, shopping and watching movies?! We headed to K Ki and shared two slices of cakes! πŸ˜€ It was misterchewy’s first visit and he loved the souffle cheescake πŸ™‚ The chocolate cake was good too!

_MG_6926

I’m back here again after two years πŸ˜€ The owner, Delphine, told us that her baby girl is 15 months old now!

_MG_6939

Did more walking up and down Ann Siang Hill to burn off the extra calories. Hahaha!

_MG_6978

Lovely dinner at Senso Ristorante & Bar along Club Street. There will be a separate post for this too!

Before returning to our room, we went to level 2 to check out the jacuzzi. Look look see see only because we didn’t bring swimwear.

_MG_6996

A quick look at the standard bath amenities before we took our bubble bath.

_MG_7138

Rain shower. The bath amenities provided are from Kiehl’s. The hubby liked the fragrance from the Kiehl’s shampoo and shower gel so maybe it’s time for me to pamper him huh? Haha. And nope, we are not showing pics of us enjoying our bubble bath this time πŸ˜›

_MG_6990

Wheeeeeee~ Making sure that our terrariums are doing ok before we go to bed.

_MG_7144

The view of the room at night and in the morning is actually similar since the curtains are drawn shut. So, we fell asleep to a night sky full of stars and woke up seeing stars. A very very lovely experience I would say! :))

_MG_7163

The next morning, we went down to Cocotte on level 1 for breakfast. Room rates are inclusive of semi-buffet breakfast over here.

Si Chuan Dou Hua: 50 Items Dim Sum Buffet at $25++ only!

_MG_5747ed

Traipse down memory lane with 50 dim sum items from now till 31 August 2012 as Si Chuan Dou Hua celebrates its 1st anniversary at PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road with a Nostalgic Dim Sum Buffet Feast (ι‚£δΊ›εΉ΄οΌŒζˆ‘δ»¬εƒθΏ‡ηš„η‚ΉεΏƒ). Priced at $25++ per person, minimum 4 to dine, this is an extremely sweet deal!

_MG_5864

The promotional menu offers a wide selection of 50 items, a mouth-watering repertoire of dim sum items, conceptualized by Master Dim Sum Chef Wen Xin Wen, that will trigger memories of the olden days. On top of that, look out for his new and creative dim sum dishes with a modern twist.

_MG_5868

I hereby emphasize that there is a requirement of minimum 4 to dine. Grab as many friends and relatives as possible so that everyone can share and enjoy all 50 dim sum items!

_MG_5715

Before the official dim sum feasting began, we were treated to four very appetizing dishes such as the Soya Chicken which are available only at a single serving at the buffet. Delicious soya sauce drizzled over tender slices of chicken!

_MG_5717

My favorite has got to be the Crispy Roasted Pork. Tender meat with a crisp layer of crackling skin!

_MG_5729

The Honey Glazed Char Siew wasn’t too bad as well. In fact, it was pretty addictive!

_MG_5727

Cannot do without spicy food? The Seaweed with Shredded Carrot and Radish in Chilli Oil will keep you contented. This dish had a nice crunchy and rubbery texture.

_MG_5745

I didn’t like char siew pau when I was a kid but I grew to like them as I got older. Here, we have Char Siew Bun with Preserved Vegetables.

_MG_5761

I really couldn’t resist those soft fluffy buns and the sweet taste of char siew.

_MG_5748

Of all the dim sum items that we had, I really enjoyed eating the Pork Belly Roll with Taro and Chinese Mushroom because it simply melts in the mouth!

_MG_5762

Siew Mai with Quail Egg

_MG_5757

Chicken, Chinese Mushroom, Dried Fish Maw and Duck Web wrapped with Chinese Marrow in Black Bean Sauce

_MG_5771

A bit like eating Teochew soon kueh, the Hakka Dumplings with Turnip were generously stuffed with bits of turnip and gave a good crunch with every bite.

_MG_5776

Rice Flour Roll with Spare Rib in Yellow and Black Bean Paste

_MG_5780

Chicken Feet with Bitter Gourd

_MG_5786

Resembling fried wontons from afar, these Crispy Glutinous Minced Meat with Shrimp Dumplings were served with a bowl of clear broth.

_MG_5784

Dipping the shrimp dumpling into the stock helps to moisten the deep-fried batter a little, while still maintaining its crunchiness. I can’t decide whether I liked the dumplings with or without the stock. Try both and let me know what you think!

_MG_5815

Beef Brisket Noodle Soup

Casserole Rice

Yes I know that this is a dim sum buffet, but there’s no harm in trying some yummy Casserole Rice! There are three types to choose from – Sliced Pork with Salted Fish, Spare Rib with Preserved Vegetable, and Chicken with Mushroom & Chinese Sausage. Absolutely yummy beyond words!

_MG_5789

Pan-Fried Carrot Cake

_MG_5808

Stir Fried Roasted Pork with Bean Sprout

_MG_5800

Crispy Taro Ball with Minced Chicken and Mushroom

_MG_5814

After sampling most of the savory dim sum items, it was time for the sweet ones! I’m a fan of fried sweet potato balls and the Deep-Fried Peanut Cake in Teochew Style came as a real treat for me!

_MG_5842

Interestingly, the Honeycomb Cake topped with Chrysanthemum tasted like some kind of Malay kueh. It was fragrant, chewy in texture and not too sweet. I really liked this!

_MG_5836

The Glutinous Rice Balls in Brown Sugar Syrup (Tong Bat Lat) resembled Japanese mochi and were very chewy!

_MG_5849

_MG_5846

Seriously, my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at the sight of the Giant Deep-fried Sesame Ball! We heard that these are not easy to make. Think sesame balls without any filling in it. An advice: Stop ogling and just eat them while hot.

_MG_5861

The Nostalgic Dim Sum Buffet Feast is only available during lunch time daily, till 31 August. Yes that includes weekends too! Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to sample all of Chef Wen’s exquisite creations!

One dines free with every 3 paying adults for UOB credit/debit cardmembers.

Happy Two Year Anniversary, misterchewy! :)

2nd Year Anniversary Photo Collage

Isn’t it amazing how a person who was once just a stranger, suddenly meant the world to you?

26th July 2012
Dearest sweetheart, we turn two today. It may sound clichΓ© but it really feels like I have known you forever. Thank you for tolerating my nonsense and most importantly, thank you for always being there. You provide a listening ear whenever I needed one and you are a wonderful confidant.

Every moment spent with you becomes a piece of precious memory because I treasure every moment with you.

Forever Love, Forever Love. ζˆ‘εͺζƒ³η”¨ζˆ‘θΏ™δΈ€θΎˆεεŽ»ηˆ±δ½ .

Hihi everyone! It’s Fridaaaay~! I’ve decided to share some of the graduation shots that misterchewy and I took in 2010 when I first graduated and also the ones that we took a couple of weeks ago. These are just photos of me and the hubby. Decided not to post photos of our family members here but these can still be found in my personal Facebook account. Haha πŸ˜›

As you can see, I’m a little girl at heart! Hahaha! I was really thrilled when I saw this huge owl soft toy, which wasn’t in the studio two years ago. We’re done with our engagement and graduation shoot. Next up would be our wedding shoot! Yayyy! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
