Go on a Japanese Gourmet Journey & Redeem Sushi Cushions @ Liang Court till 29 July 2012!

-Sponsored Post-

_MG_6142

Hello friends, I bet you guys are looking forward to the weekend already! Fret not if you don’t have any plans yet because missuschewy strongly urges everyone to go on a Gourmet Journey in Japanese style at Liang Court. Besides a host of gourmet choices and yummy treats, there are many entertaining and exciting activities such as cooking demonstrations, authentic Japanese performances and gourmet challenges that people of all ages can take part in and also win fantastic prizes at the same time! Why spend your precious weekend wandering aimlessly along the streets of Orchard Road? Come on down to Liang Court and immerse in the wonderful Japanese culture! 🙂

_MG_5918

The kind folks at AsiaMalls Management sponsored us some shopping and dining vouchers. Grabbed Celes, Derrick and his partner along to check out the host of activities at the mall last Sunday!

_MG_5910

If you crave for Japanese cuisine, the best place to head to is of course Liang Court! Isn’t it obvious? Haha. My favorite restaurant at Liang Court is Tampopo. There are many others like the famous Marutama Ra-men, Botejyu Okonomiyaki, and Saizeriya that you can choose from too! We decided to have a quick lunch at the relatively new Dulcet & Studio which is also under the Tampopo group.

_MG_5912

I like Dulcet & Studio for its relaxed and laidback vibe. Will definitely pop by again for more cakes and tea!

_MG_5964

After lunch, we wanted to catch the Japanese Lion Dance with Mask performance at the main atrium and spotted the performers while we were making our way there!

_MG_5971

_MG_6060

All the performances, gourmet challenges and cooking workshops are held on weekends so the next one would be on 21 and 22 July from 1 to 6pm.

_MG_6008

This little boy is all prepared for the Japanese Gourmet Journey too!

_MG_6003

_MG_6015

_MG_6038

_MG_6049

I must really hand it to the performers for giving their best shot in the Japanese lion dance with mask show. Everyone stopped in their tracks to watch the performance and we all learned a thing or two about the Japanese culture. Next weekend, there will be a Special MIYAKE DAIKO performance and Japanese Folk Dance performance so watch out for them!

_MG_6082

Next up was the Subway Tasters Challenge where shoppers who spend a minimum of $20 in a single receipt will be eligible to put their taste buds to the test! The first to guess correctly the most number of sauces and fillings on their Subway sandwiches will walk away with the most number of prizes!

_MG_6089

Spot anyone familiar up on the stage? LOL.

_MG_6093

Not sure what that look from misterchewy meant. Probably a little caught off guard?

_MG_6094

_MG_6097

_MG_6102

Good thing this wasn’t a eating competition in terms of who can eat the most, if not the atmosphere would be a tensed one! The contestants seemed to be enjoying their Subs! 😀

_MG_6114

I must say that misterchewy had been very courageous to take part in this tasting challenge because the only Sub that he eats is Subway Melt!

_MG_6126

_MG_6129

All participants will definitely go home with some prizes. The higher your ranking, you get to draw more prizes! The Subway Tasters Challenge will take place again on 22 July, next Sunday at 2pm.

_MG_6146

Yay! The boy won a lovely Japanese sake set! I think it’s a sign that we should start stocking up on sake. Heh 😛

_MG_5974

The Japanese fair features a wide range of food products and simple kitchen appliances, etc.

_MG_6058

Keep the little ones happy with the Gourmet Journey Coloring Book for Kids! It is also a good way for them to learn about the different Japanese food such as sushi, ramen, bento, etc.

_MG_6068

Having passed by many shops, the one that intrigued me the most was LALU. Its interior is so 1980s and many of the pretty frocks are very feminine!

_MG_6066

The fashion collection consists of the White Romance Collection, Dress with an Edge Collection and Glam Chic Collection. Depending on your mood and style, you will definitely find something you like!

_MG_6065

IMG_1349

For easy, one-stop shopping for the entire family, I suggest that you check out Miki Outlet Store (M.O.S). Not only can you find clothes for the adult male and female, there are clothes for kids and teens as well!

IMG_1345

This looks like a two-piece but it’s actually a dress! Perfect for casual outings. I bought not one but two dresses at M.O.S 😛

IMG_1348

Yup and this was the other dress that I chose. Really flatters my figure! Hehehe! :PPP

_MG_6192

After shopping, we settled our dinner at Nirai Kanai Okinawan Restaurant.

_MG_6166

_MG_6159

_MG_6157

_MG_6161

_MG_6174

_MG_6177

_MG_6186

It was our first time trying Okinawan food and we liked it very much! Felt that it wasn’t distinctly Japanese and the pork belly dishes gave us the impression that there had been some Chinese influence on Okinawan dishes. The total bill came up to about $120 which is very reasonable.

_MG_5906

If you spend $120 in a maximum of 2 same-day receipts, you can redeem for an adorable Sushi Cushion, while stocks last! Terms and condition apply so do check with the customer service staff at level 2.

_MG_6136

I’m loving my Ebi Sushi cushion! It’s so soft and huggable! <3 Next in the series are Sushi Roll from 18 July and Maki Sushi from 24 July. A word of caution: They might be fully redeemed really quickly!

Rejoice because it’s that time of the year again! The Singapore Food Festival 2012 (SFF2012) will be taking place from 13 to 22 July. Do you know that the SFF was first launched in 1994? This is the 19th SFF! Each year, a unique theme is identified to showcase our diverse food culture and heritage in enriching and fun programs. This year’s theme revolves around SEAFOOD because Singapore’s love for seafood can be traced as far back as the 14th century, when it was originally known as Temasek, or ‘Sea Town’ in Javanese. This penchant for seafood has since enabled our ethnic communities to develop unique culinary and preparation styles and over the years, turned cooking and enjoying seafood into an art. In this span of 10 days, people from all walks of life are invited to immerse in our wonderful Singapore food culture as well as savour a diverse range of seafood enjoyed in Singapore.

MissTamChiak’s Birthday Surprise @ Akari Japanese Dining & Bar

Akari Japanese Dining and Bar

Our dear misstamchiak turned a year older recently! Initially, my plan was to give her a dinner treat, and it was supposed to just the two of us. Romantic right! LOL. We had agreed to dine at a particular Spanish restaurant but in the end, we settled for Akari Japanese Dining and Bar at Marina Bay Link Mall. And not only that, dinner between two ladies turned out to be a group of eight foodie friends! 😀

Ok the story goes like this. I was one of the lucky three winners of the new iPad following the Standard Chartered’s The Good Life contest. Haha shall not elaborate on the contest here. The date to collect the iPad at Marina Bay Financial Centre had been set and yes, it coincided with my dinner date with misstamchiak! Told her that we can either postpone it or dine somewhere around MBFC so that she doesn’t have to wait too long. Since Derrick won himself an iPad too, Maureen said that he can join us if he wants to. Just nice Celes asked me if I wanted to join in for a dinner surprise for Maureen and I told her about our plans. Hence, we asked the others along!

_MG_4726

Celes made reservations and we were given a private dining room with 8 seats, and Maureen was clearly suspicious! LOL. While waiting for the others to spring their surprise on Maureen, I tried to buy time by asking her to accompany me to the washroom. When we were back, they were still waiting for Jiayi! So we took some photos in the private room.

_MG_4727

Maureen and Derrick.

_MG_4729

This is Derrick’s gf! So for those of his females readers out there who think he’s single and available, please give up already. HAHA! Kidding~~

_MG_4803

Before we could stop Maureen, she went out of the private dining room and began snapping pictures in the restaurant. When the rest of the group arrived, she was backfacing them and Celes gave her a scare from behind! That was when we heard a loud shrill~~ Lol.

_MG_4746ed

It’s very difficult to order food in a large group especially when everyone goes, “Anything. Anything.” I’m glad we ordered sashimi because it’s my favorite! The Salmon Zukushi ($58) is a 3-kind salmon sashimi platter consisting of salmon, salmon belly and salmon roe. I love the salmon belly because it’s loaded with fat!

_MG_4779

_MG_4775

_MG_4778

_MG_4784

This has got to be one of the most expensive sushi platter I have eaten in my 2X years of life. The Tokusyou Nigiri 12 Syu ($64) featured 12 types of premium sushi. We ordered 2 sets to be shared among everyone. All I can say is that the raw fish were firm and fresh.

_MG_4793

Whoever ordered this must love rice a lot. LOL. The Kaisen Sansyoku Wan ($38) was 3-kinds mini rice bowls with sea urchin & salmon roe, yellowtail & sesame sauce, seasoned tuna red meat. Much to my *ahem* delight, nobody except for Jiayi and I wanted to eat the sea urchin. And I was like, “This is good stuff! Why nobody eat?!” The combination of melt-in-the-mouth texture and briny taste is something I found heavenly!

_MG_4797

_MG_4799

_MG_4758

We ordered two types of fish, one of which was the Gindara Saikyo Yaki ($26). The cod fish was well marinated with sweet miso sauce and its moisture was retained even after grilling. I have always liked cod fish for its oily, flaky texture.

_MG_4789

I didn’t really fancy the Madai Yaki Anchovy Flavour ($24) because it had this mild fishy taste but the red chilli pepper and anchovy paste helped to cover it up a little. Perhaps we should have squeezed some lemon over it! Haha.

_MG_4762

Strangely, the Buta Shiro Kakuni ($18) reminded me of the canned Narcissus Stewed Pork Chop. *shudders*

_MG_4763

It was a good thing that we also ordered the Kurobuta Miso Yaki ($26). The marinated black pork was grilled to perfection with homemade miso sauce. It was very succulent with a slight buttery flavor which I enjoyed thoroughly.

_MG_4805

With Jiayi and Rae!

_MG_4815

Maureen and I started the ball rolling for a series of crazy wacky shots! We wanted a proper picture first and we banged into each other on the head! Quite painful lor! Anyway, some of the following photos are koped from Maureen. Don’t say I never give credit ah. Hahaha!

And then Derrick became trigger happy and started snapping non-stop!

Udders Ice Cream Making Workshop & Buffet with Colleagues!

_MG_4179

My company’s recreation committee is always organizing fun events and recently, there was one which caught my attention because it involves food! Ok la I was keen to learn how to make ice cream. In case you’re wondering, we paid a discounted price to attend the Udders ice cream making workshop, inclusive of an ice cream buffet after that!

_MG_4180

_MG_4167

_MG_4171

Angel & Charlene self-shot

Here’s a self-shot of me and the organizer of the event, Angel! Ok all photos from this point onwards were taken using misterchewy’s Canon IXUS point and shoot because there wasn’t space on the table for me to place my dslr on.

Trainer Introduction

Everyone listened attentively as the ice cream trainer started his short introduction. LOL we did some warming up handshake exercises which were kinda hilarious which got some of the ladies squealing with laughter before he started the session proper.

Ingredients

Before all of us got down to business, we were given 3 flavors to choose from – vanilla, chocolate and coconut. I wanted to try something slightly different and decided on making coconut ice cream! 😀 Majority chose chocolate and the trainer remarked that he has observed, after conducting numerous workshops, that “the chocolate people are a little bit different.. they don’t listen to instructions.” HAHA!

Pouring in coconut milk

The first step was simple. Pour in 200ml of milk and 200ml of coconut cream into the metal bowl. This recipe is enough for 2 portions.

Stirring the contents

Add in 50g of sugar and stir well!

Mixture of coconut milk and sugar

After you are done with the stirring, bag the mixture! Use a ziplock bag please, remove as much air as possible and seal it properly. Don’t ask me how to remove air from the bag. LOL.

Bag of ice

Have a bag of ice ready!

Salt and Ice

Put in 6 heaped tablespoons of coarse salt into the bag of ice in order to lower its temperature to -22 degrees celsius after a good shake!

Colleagues making ice cream

Once you are done with mixing the salt with the ice, put the small ziplock bag (containing the mixture) into the ziplock bag. Do not pour the contents from the small bag into the big bag!!

Wrapped with good morning towel

Close the big ziplock bag and wrap it with a medium sized towel so that your hands won’t be frozen. A Good Morning towel would be ideal. Hahaha.

Shaking the ice

Gently massage the big ziplock bag! The ice cream in the small ziplock bag will slowly begin to harden as it gets colder. When it is hard enough, your ice cream is ready! 😀 😀 😀

Having fun

We had to shake/massage the bag of ice for about 10 minutes and this is what happened.. Colleagues started giving one another massages on the back! LOL!

Angel and vanilla ice cream

Tadah! Angel and her vanilla ice cream!

Angel and Charlene

So excited man! My coconut ice cream is ready too!

Before eating coconut ice cream

So here’s a “Before” shot!

Damn awesome coconut ice cream

Hahaha and an “After” shot! I can’t believe the coconut ice cream that I made tastes really like coconut ice cream! HAHA! So happy I wanna cry!

Coconut Ice Cream

Group after making ice cream

As you can see, ice cream making is very popular with the ladies!

Charlene & Amy

Time for ice cream buffet! *Screams* Ok la I know we very kiasu. Other people still eating their own ice cream we chiong to the ice cream counter instead 😛 Mai lugi! LOL. That’s me and Amy!

Ice Cream on Waffle

Four non-alcholic ice cream flavors first! Green tea, Horlicks, and I can’t remember the other two. I didn’t eat these on my own la. Shared with Angel! Got waffle somemore! Shiok!

Charlene ice cream buffet

Charlene & Angel ice cream buffet

Alcoholic Ice Cream

And then we had another 4 scoops of ice cream. Alcholic flavors this time!

Amy, Angel, Charlene

Whoohoo! We totally enjoyed this ice cream making workshop and buffet! Looking forward to more exciting events organized by the committee! 😀 😀 😀

_MG_4203

After the session, I whiled my time in United Square, more specifically at an empty table outside Texas Chicken, where I updated one of my blog posts on the iPad. Met misterchewy in the evening and went to the BBQ organized by his colleagues! Second time joining them. I think there’s another one coming right up in June. Lol.

Anyway, my human arranged for me to have my photos taken by a professional pet photographer recently. Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition & Pizzeria Mozza @ MBS

_MG_2970

Helloooo my dear friends! I managed to squeeze some time out to do this short and a little outdated (oops!) post. It’s still worth reading ok! 😛 So, here we go! Sometime in April, misterchewy and I went to check out Titantic: The Artifact Exhibition at Marina Bay Sands! I should have blogged about this earlier because the exhibition ended on 29 April but I was really busy 🙁 The tickets were priced at $20 each for Singaporeans but I managed to get them at a slightly cheaper rate because of corporate discount 😀

_MG_2999

We didn’t have to queue to buy the tickets because they were issued to us beforehand. But, we had to be part of the freaking long queue to enter the exhibition area! I’m holding up our boarding passes! 🙂

_MG_2998

OMG I swear my face fell the moment I saw that we were being issued Third Class Cabin passes! D: D: D: And no, we weren’t travelling together. Haha. I’m a middle-aged Mrs Williams Coutts who was travelling with her two young sons. LOL misterchewy was supposed to be an agricultural inspector! Anyway, Mrs Coutts and her sons survived!

_MG_3005

Ummm these are the only few photos that we took outside. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the exhibition so yeah, we were being very obedient 😛 There were two photo-stops, but we weren’t allowed to use our own cameras. One ‘photographer’ was stationed at each stop to take our photos and it is up to us whether we want to buy them.

_MG_3010

Hubby Chewy and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously! Our favorite part of the exhibit was at the deck where there was a fake canopy of twinkling stars and when you peered down, it seemed as if the deep blue waters were moving gently. It was there and then where misterchewy and I stole a kiss 😛 The entire setup was amazingly romantic! <3

_MG_3028

It was around 10pm but we hadn’t had dinner! Hungry us found ourselves at Pizzeria Mozza! Thank goodness last order’s at 11pm.

_MG_3016

Haha misterchewy was overjoyed because this was one of the places that he had shortlisted to celebrate one of our monthsaries. I had rejected him back then because I didn’t feel like eating pizza 😛 LOL I’m very fussy so he has been conditioned to make many backup plans!

_MG_3024

_MG_3026

Our cutlery were kept in an envelope! Very interesting right? In the background was our paper bag of bread sticks.

_MG_3033

Initially we only ordered this Bacon, Salami, Fennel sausage, Pancetta, Tomato & Mozzarella Pizza ($37) to share. Don’t let the puffy crust fool you, our pizza ain’t that big! Sorry, couldn’t help but sulk over its size because we were starving! It was cut up into 6 slices and I let misterchewy have 4. The pizza was actually quite yummy and savory!

_MG_3038

We were still hungry and ordered some chicken wings with hot mustard which cost us $18. Guess what? There were only 3 wings! :O Sorry no pics because we couldn’t be bothered. Hungry beyond words! Ok, to be fair, they were really splendid! But still, $18 is kinda steep.

The Chewys at Titantic Grand Staircase

Ending the post with this photo that misterchewy and I took at the iconic Grand Staircase of Titanic! :))

The Chewys’ Sweet Date @ Fullhouse Singapore Theme Cafe!

Fullhouse Cafe

Wow! What can I say? Both misterchewy and I are equally excited about relating our very first theme restaurant dining experience at Fullhouse Singapore Lifestyle Store and Cafe! With its grand opening that occurred as recent as mid April, Fullhouse is Singapore’s latest theme restaurant that has attracted many locals and created quite a buzz at the same time! 😀

_MG_3868

There were a couple of occasions when we would skip down the streets of Orchard Road hand in hand and pass by this colorful restaurant but we never went in because we already have other plans.

_MG_3810

Just a couple of days ago, after watching The Avengers in 3D at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, it was time for dinner and we were thinking.. Should we? Yes we should! So dinner at Fullhouse it was! 🙂

_MG_3840

_MG_3800

When I first heard of the name “Fullhouse”, popular Korean drama starring Rain and Song Hye Kyo immediately came to mind! As you will see in the many pictures to come, Fullhouse is designed to look like a house! Duh, yes I know but this one’s totally awesome! Let me bring you on a mini tour. You’ll see! 😛

Daddy Thomas, Mummy Tracy, children Tiffani and Tony, as well as pet dog Toy make up the Fullhouse family! If you’re serious about this, you should grab one of these maps at the counter! 😉

_MG_3843

Tadah! We have the very cosy and spacious Living Room! I love the colorful family portraits that are hung up on the wall. Ok la, I love everything about this ‘living room’, in particular the warm feeling that it brings! 😀

_MG_3764

_MG_3766

_MG_3845

_MG_3769

_MG_3813

_MG_3816

Keen to see how the Master Bedroom looks like? I reckon it’s every girl’s dream come true! The bedroom is a walk in wardrobe, and so much more!

_MG_3817

Psst.. Most of the items in the bedroom are for sale! You can even try the clothes on in the fitting room 🙂

_MG_3815

Are you Goldilocks? If you’re not, then you better don’t be like the three naughty bears and anyhow sleep on people’s bed ah! LOL.

_MG_3824

Wheeeee! Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is the Balcony! I must say that this is very lovely! Well, the green ‘grass’ can only make me think of playing golf. LOL.

_MG_3842

Actually, there are Entertainment Room and Study Rooms which we did not manage to cover in this post because those rooms are meant for events and private dining. There was a birthday celebrating going on in one of the rooms so I suppose this place is pretty well sought after!

_MG_3799

Ok let’s get back to our dinner!

_MG_3781

We ordered an appetizer, the Salmon Salad ($16.90) to share. On the plate was three thick slices of smoked salmon with sliced fresh mango and salad. The salmon slices were very firm and fleshy and I really liked the intensive smoked taste. Hubby Chewy let me have two slices but two were never enough 😛 He doesn’t usually eat mangoes but he ate most of it anyway. It was more sweet than sourish so I guess that was the reason 🙂

_MG_3777

_MG_3796

I wanted something sweet, yet ummm healthy at the same time so I chose the Korean Jujube Tea ($3.90). It’s essentially sweetened tea syrup containing jujube fruits or red dates. There were some red dates peelings which I was able to chew on at the bottom of my glass. Quite a sweet and refreshing drink that I would recommend 🙂

_MG_3785

Fullhouse’s menu is quite extensive and I went “I want this.. No wait I think I want this..” before finally deciding on the Pan Sear Dory Fish ($16.90). It wasn’t such a bad choice except that the sight of siew pak choy (xiao bai cai) totally put me off. I love my greens but this is the only vegetable that I detest. However, I gamely finished the two fat pieces of siew pak choy because I don’t like to waste food. Apart from that, the fish was above my expectations. I would say that the lemongrass cream was fantastic and enhanced the taste and texture of the fish.

_MG_3775

_MG_3793

Hubby Chewy also has a sweet tooth just like me, which is why we fell for each other. Because we are incredibly sweet! LOL kidding! Ok la which is why he ordered the Honeydew Milkshake ($7.90). He liked it a lot but honestly, I think it’s like a more atas version of a bubble tea.

_MG_3791

The husband had the Wasabi Fish and Wedges ($16.90). He claimed that the deep fried fish fillet was pretty tasteless and the wasabi dip salvaged things a little, although it did not provide much of a kick.

_MG_3805

While we were sipping our drinks, I took a closer look at the menu.

_MG_3806

There’s a comic section on the last few pages. Really cool stuff! I guess it’s a way for to keep diners entertained while waiting for their food to be served.

_MG_3827

_MG_3849

_MG_3858

This vintage Aston Martin Mini Cooper Classic is parked at the Car Porch and no visit to Fullhouse is complete without having your photos taken with this colorful baby! 🙂

_MG_3859

_MG_3867

_MG_3855

Hubby Chewy and I would certainly recommend Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe to all dating, courting and married couples! Of course, it’s also great for girly meetups! Enjoy your sweet date and take lotsa photos! <3

Carousel @ Royal Plaza on Scotts: Birthday Treat Pictorial

Self-shot

Hello all! This is misterchewy doing some simple updates for a long overdue pictorial post on behalf of the missus. On a Saturday evening in March, we had a family gathering with the wifey’s family, before BIL’s NS overseas training and also to celebrate the MIL’s birthday. Thanks to them, I finally had the chance to try out Carousel, award-winning buffet restaurant at Royal Plaza on Scotts!

Us @ Staircase

We took some photos outside the restaurant. Got the grand staircase feel from Titanic. Haha.

The seafood station featured Atlantic Salmon, Alaska King Crab (weekends only), fresh oysters, mussels, boiled tiger prawns (weekends only), Pacific lobsters etc.

An international buffet is not complete without the Sashimi and Sushi station. Ingredients were fresh and we could not stop going back for more servings. There was also a live station for Somen cold noodles to cater to people who enjoy the Japanese style cooked noodles.

Oasia Hotel Singapore Staycation Blog Review

Sponsored Staycation

The Chewys' Staycation @ Oasia Hotel-001

Hot on the heels of our blog post on The Chewys’ very first Singapore staycation, we have lined up another mega blog post filled with many photos taken during the 1st Year Anniversary Party and staycation at Oasia Hotel! The party was very fun and lively; with lots of cocktails and chocolates to go around. As for the staycation, we are summing up our experience in three words: awesome, impressive and exclusive! 😀

_MG_3665

Oasia Hotel is situated in the heart of the charming Novena enclave, just a stone’s throw away from shopping malls, Novena Square Velocity and Square 2, as well as the Novena MRT Station. Talk about extreme convenience and accessibility! Since it was a little early for us to check-in, we settled our lunch at Square 2’s Sakae Sushi before crossing the link bridge over to Oasia. At about 2pm, we proceeded straight to Level 22 because that’s where the check-in/check-out is done for Oasia Club rooms or suites guests.

_MG_3049-001

The club room that we stayed in for the night is on the 24th floor, highest being the 25th. The room features understated modern decor, subtle hues of nature-inspired elements and ambient lighting that will soothe one’s senses.

_MG_3074-001

All Oasia Club Room guests will also enjoy very exclusive privileged access to The Living Room and its pool facilities on the 22nd floor, as well as complimentary breakfast, cocktail and all-day coffee, tea, juices, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks at The Living Room, complimentary one piece of suit pressing per stay (non accumulative) and daily newspapers.

_MG_3138

_MG_3084-001

_MG_3051-001

Fresh fruits in our room. How nice! 🙂

_MG_3054-001

There’s even stationery! It’s all the little things and personal touches like these that are both welcoming and intuitive, which left us impressed.

_MG_3151

We love listening to music and we were grinning from ear to ear upon seeing the iPod/iPhone docking machine! 😀

_MG_3642-001

Most hotel rooms only have like two or three pin power point sockets so it was pleasant to have this USB power socket. One USB cable does the trick of charging all your electronic devices like your camera, mobile phone and MP3 player. At least it works for me! Imagine the hassle of having to bring ten different chargers for all your devices. 😛

_MG_3059

All Oasia Club rooms are equipped with unlimited broadband access. Here’s misterchewy calling the reception to find out what’s the correct ‘last name’ to key in together with our room number, in order to log onto the WIFI network.

_MG_3321

_MG_3116

46 inch LED television!

_MG_3114

Woots! Complimentary mini bar is rather well-stocked. 😀 😀 😀

_MG_3113

If you want a hot drink, there’s also Nespresso coffee-making facilities! 😀

_MG_3352-001

Not a fan of coffee? There’s Naturalis tea!

_MG_3153-001

We went, “Whoaaaaa!” In this wardrobe, there are bath robes, bedroom slippers, iron with ironing board, and even a large umbrella! Very thoughtful indeed!

_MG_3094-001

And here comes the part many would be concerned about, other than the bed. Bath tub on the left, rain shower on the right!

_MG_3157-001

_MG_3605-001

I first had the chance to use these bath amenities from Thann when I stayed in one of the hotels in Taiwan. Madly in love with the aromatic wood scent!

_MG_3361

_MG_3090-001

_MG_3096-001

Everything that you need, it’s in there! Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shaver, showering cap, cotton buds, loofah, etc!

_MG_3110

_MG_3078

Heh heh heh. You can derive a little bit of fun and excitement from watching your partner shower! 😛 The blinds can be operated with a simple click in the bathroom.

_MG_3065-002

Same goes for the blinds and shades in the room! We were greeted by a very breathtaking view of the city! Basically, the husband and I just sat on the ledge and admired the sight for a good 10 minutes 🙂 Haha but of course, we had to pull down the blinds after a few minutes because it was getting kinda hot! 😛

_MG_3070

_MG_3322-horz

_MG_3339-horz

_MG_3306

As we had a couple of hours to kill before the event, Hubby Chewy and I went for a little tour around the hotel! Went to level 8 first.

_MG_3297-001

The swimming pool looks very nice right! I like the ‘feel’!

_MG_3299-001

There’s a jacuzzi too!

_MG_3300-001

_MG_3312

The gymnasium is located on level 8 too. Not very big but it has a handful of cardio machine like the treadmill and stationary bike. Those who are on an endurance or strength training regime can make use of the free weights and the all-in-one machine!

_MG_3289-001

And now, level 22! Over here, Oasia Club room guests get to enjoy very exclusive benefits and be pampered like kings and queens!

_MG_3201

Tadah! This is The Living Room! Very nice place to chill out!

_MG_3211

_MG_3236-001

Here’s a sneak peek of the setup for the event at night! 😉

_MG_3269-001

We pushed past the glass door and stood in awe in front of this very beautiful infinity pool which boasts a magnificent view of the city! Oh man, I wish I could jump right in! Anyway, this is only open to club room guests!

_MG_3258

_MG_3281

This jacuzzi looks way bigger than the one we saw at level 8!

_MG_3284

How relaxing it is to just lie here and enjoy a glass of orange juice as you get your dose of Vitamin D! Just remember to apply sunblock! 😛

_MG_3287-001

_MG_3366-001

Hey hey hey! That’s not all to it. Light bites by the pool are available for club guests between 6-8pm at the Club Lounge. If you are like me who gets hungry after a swim, you should rejoice to this! 😛

_MG_3378-001

_MG_3374-001

_MG_3376-001

_MG_3375-001

_MG_3372-001

_MG_3384-001

Since the event was scheduled to start at 7pm and we didn’t have time for dinner, we ate a bit from the spread.

_MG_3391

_MG_3393-001

We are now ready to party! I love how these glasses are being made use of here. Brilliant!

_MG_3394

Some of the early birds that night 😛

_MG_3402-001

_MG_3416-001

Very addictive Monbana chocolates from France! I loveeee dark chocolates 😀

_MG_3411-001

Pretty Monbana girls who flew over to Singapore as a team!

_MG_3408

_MG_3423

I met winner of Project Superstar Season 2, Daren Tan Sze Wei!

_MG_3442-001

Turns out that he’s the Sales and Marketing Director of Naturalis! Their products include teas, jams, spreads, honeys and sauces.

_MG_3456-001

The bartender was preparing the welcome drink for everyone, which made use of products from Naturalis.

_MG_3463-001

_MG_3481-001

Summer’s Bouquet is a lovely concoction of vodka, elderflower syrup, Singapore Sling tea, lemon and ice cubes!

_MG_3477-001

I’m sure everybody present that night enjoyed the exclusive Chocholatier Masterclass conducted by Mr Geoffroy Maubon, who’s the first barista of Monbana!

_MG_3486-001

_MG_3496-001

I can’t recall the name of this drink but I loveeee its color very much! My favorite color 😛

_MG_3499-001

Next up was the highlight for the night, the unveiling of Oasia’s signature cocktail drink! It has also been very aptly named, “L22“.

_MG_3507

_MG_3514-001

_MG_3524-001

Since we were there to celebrate Oasia’s 1st year anniversary, we couldn’t go without a massive birthday cake topped with macarons that brought about surprised gasps from the awe-stricken audience!

_MG_3525-001

We called it a night after singing the birthday song and grabbing a piece of macaron! What a night! 😀

_MG_3528

Hahaha I kinda sabo-ed misterchewy to be interviewed instead of me doing the job because I’m camera shy! Oops! 😛

_MG_3577

Back in our room. LOL! I told misterchewy I’m gonna do a test shot and he did this pose. Super cheeky la!

_MG_3579

_MG_3583

Oh yes, after the event ended, I was feeling kinda hungry and we hopped over to Novena Square. It’s that convenient! Had a craving for sashimi, as usual, and we grabbed some from Cold Storage. Half price somemore. Hahaha!

IMG_1033

Feeling very refreshed after a long hot shower! 😀

IMG_1039

Face masking time for us! I swear we friggin look like Alien Workshop! LOLOLOL.

IMG_1043

The bed was way too comfy and we decided to just lie there watching Titantic on our iPad! 😀 😀 😀

_MG_3588-001

I can’t believe I got hungry again towards the end of the movie! Hubby Chewy then suggested that we order something from the supper menu that’s available from 11pm to 5am by calling room service! He had the fries while I was contented with my mushroom soup with truffle oil.

_MG_3597

IMG_1046

Time for bed! A couple who brushes their teeth together, stays together. Hahaha! 😛

_MG_3630-001

We had a very good sleep and woke up to the rhythmic pitter patter of raindrops against the window pane early next morning. 🙂

_MG_3634-001

Nothing beats lazing in bed with your loved one while listening to music from the iPod docking machine! It was fabulous! We played songs from Rita Ora, Katy Perry, The Wanted, Jayesslee, Jay Chou and many more. 😀 😀 😀

_MG_3650-001

The husband and I have a thing for having breakfast in the hotel. Good thing we remembered to tick the items that we wanted and hung our order on the door knob before we slept the night before.

_MG_3648-001

I don’t have much of an appetite in the morning and settled for the mini pancakes and some cornflakes while misterchewy had a hearty American breakfast with bacon and poached eggs!

_MG_3660

Woots! Breakfast is served! No words can explain how blissful we felt 😀

_MG_3627

That’s all folks! Have a fantabulous weekend and a lovely holiday on Chewsday! 😛
